Book Review: Zero Day
This is the latest thriller by David Baldacci is a page turner for sure. The book is a testament on how the greed can present itself as a motivator for the country men to turn traitors. The story is set in the post 9/11 world where John Puller (the male protagonist), an army investigator, is sent to Drake, West Virginia, to investigate the brutal murder of an army colonel and his family. What meets the eye is not reality here and the little town which seems almost dead apart from a coal mining company turns out to giving Puller more work than he bargained. He is flying solo on this investigation and being assisted by Sam Cole (the female protagonist), the Sergeant, at the local Sheriff’s office. Together they unravel a mystery which has far reaching consequences and all the while they have dead bodies piling up all round them!
Throughout the book, you will be amazed by the amount of detailing that the author provides you with the procedures of the various professions and organizations that he has touched in this book be it forensics or the United States Army or nuclear physics!
A page turner to say the least and one of the best works of David Baldacci! A definite must read!
